It was a looooong day!!
Woke up early for work... and during lunch rush hour, my car stopped working on a main boulevard, in the middle lane! Nightmare!
Took it to the garage, they can't find the problem. 86$ to hell.

Later i went to Marc's to play Rockband... and i dropped my bubble tea in the entrance! sad sad wumpi. Not a good day. oh non.
although it was fun to play :)

I was supposed to do that months ago but never got to it.... so it will be really shorter than what i was supposed to do, i'm kinda braindead.
I might redo it in couple of days, who knows

First, Georgetown Cupcake in Washington DC!
A super awesome ,but also super small cupcakery. (Do not expect to be able to sit inside, there's only one table. Also expect to wait in line, most of the time outside, too much people want the awesome cupcakes!)
The cupcakes are really tasty and the frosting is creamy but dense, and they are as good as they look!
they are the best cupcakes i've had in my life! Althought i prefered Starbucks' red velvet to this one.

So in order you have :
chocolate&vanilla-lava fudge (yes, LAVA FUDGE!!!)-lemon blossom-red velvet-chocolate.

They also have super cute accessories like bracelets and tees. Make sure to not leave without one of their gorgeous travel mug!

But there's still some negatives points: a visit to the atm is needed before visiting because they only take cash... which i always forget. I guess i'm lucky that i have a boyfriends sponsoring my cupcake addiction :)
It also close early (7pm during the week) considering it's right in the middle of Georgetown (corner of M street and Potomac street), and often early when they sell out. If you are craving a particular flavor, i would recommend giving them a call before getting into the trouble of finding parking in the area.

As they are doing Catering too, i was maybe considering getting cupcakes done for my birthday in september and organizing a kind of mad tea party in the backyard. I'll check with my sweet madhatter and keep you posted about that.

haven' t posted in awhile!
so in quick... lot of travelling between here, montréal and DC! Sadly it rained a lot in DC, but oh well... i had my love to keep me warm and silly :)

It's late and i'm running low on word. My body is tired of all the running around i did yesterday to find the car in the city... when it was actually only towed couple of blocks away.

New contract is starting tomorrow morning, and the freaking director still haven't emailed me my contract. I guess i'll pay her a visit somewhen tomorrow with the set designer. I'm not getting screwed on that one.

Things i like Thursday

It's my new happy-maker, that is making me as happy as coffee, cupcakes and love!!

1-Heroes! I'm at episodes 17 of the third season! Sylar is so... magnificiently evil and sexy! oh, and i stumbled on the add they made for the superbowl, i was all giggling!

2- Sleeping late! I woke up at 3pm and didnt feel bad at all! I'm learning to not freak out cause i'm not working all the time. good god it's about time.

3-Giving stuff to good will! since i'm out of school and working as a costume designer, i have had the bad habit of keeping every piece of costume, but litterally everything. Last week, while i was in dc, the pole in the costume wardrobe broke. I found it this morning, so i decided to repair it and go through all the stuff and sort it out. I ended with 2 huges black plastic bags full of worthless stuff. I threw away some dross stuff and kept only what was or vintage, or linked to a good memory. I felt so... liberated. I know i still have couples of bags in my own wardrobe, i'll wait when i'll feel a new urge to do it.

4-My car! I know, i know, i have a car that is totally awful for the environment, but god it's making my life so easier! I can get my work done in half the time it was taking me before, or do things like... giving 2 bigs bags of clothing to good will! And (most of the time...) it makes me smile when people make jokes about the fact that i'm a small girl with a biiiig car! (ok ok, having my license plate stolen last week didnt really made me happy but i have to roll with it!)

5-Coffee! My expresso machine is still working super well, and coffee is even better that at the Brûlerie. it rocks! (maybe it's what's keeping me awake so late tho, hehe)

6- How my portfolio is about to be finished soon! I scanned some drawings and put them together, i'll print some other things tomorrow and i'll be ready for my interview monday at Dufour!

7-Compliments. It's always so nice to hear a random compliment. Someone told me today: 'hello, we're searching for good designer and your name keeps popping up.' It made me smile for the rest of the day.

8-Unexpected phonecalls. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with P, it was nice to have some news!

9-Car wash! It was my first experience as an adult, it was so fun! Its one of my 1st childhood memory, and it scared the shit outta me at that time! Although the car is not reaaaally clean. I'll handwash it soon when spring will (finally) arrives.

10-Breakfast Club! I'll be on my way in 1 hour! I'll probably still eat the same thing and drink enormous amount of coffee.

11-ILOVEBADTHINGS. like a badass notcot. i love it!

12- This Metamorphose dress. I'm totally in love with it but cant really afford the 175$ the girl want for it. sad sad possum

It's definitly (still!) winter here. Today's errands were a bit insane between wind and snow.

Also considering the boots adventure... Couple of days ago, i broke my platforms... So i'm wearing shoes right now until tomorrow, gonna get the boots to the shoe's repair shop.

I'm really happy to be done with the opera, although i had a lot of fun in the last days.

I have the 'week off', only teaching thursday, so i'm using this time to try to get some rest, then do all my errands, gym, and posting resumes for jobs in DC. Will try a bit of cooking as well... kichiri i guess.

Watched Juno last night, it's an okay movie.
Definitly feeling better today, i guess i was in a post-holidays depression thingy. Back on my feet like warrior possum.
CHILI BOWL! (Oh my, i'm craving for Skyline chili right now. SKYLINE CHILI!)

Everything for the opera is gonna be done and packed by Sunday night. Maybe still a pair of shoes to find, but no big deal.
I'll fucking finally finish the green suit saturday. Can't wait to zip that bitch in a bodybag.

Will also cook moussaka somewhen this week-end, probably while painting the green suit saturday.
Tomorrow will be a meeting one:
1-Opera school to set appointements for makeup on monday-tuesday
2-Teacher's meeting at theater school
3-Hairdresser for opera
4-Off to eat with the girls (burgers, come to mama!)
5-DJ Mini at Le Cercle (god, make sure that i'll party like a champ and wake up without hangover on saturday)

Sounds pretty much like it. Maaaaaybe i can think of starting the suit between the school and the hairdresser, but i doubt.

almost back in the 'reality'.

I'm starting to work again tomorrow, after my awesome trip to Florida-DC-Montréal-Québec-Beauce-Québec.
I need to do to-do list tomorrow morning as soon as i wake up... which is gonna be early i hope.
And to figure out how to organize all the make-up appointments for the opera.
I'll also complete my thursday class and try to do a bit of laundry as there's basically nothing left in my wardrobe.
If there's still some time left, i'll write down what still need to be done or bought for the opera, and might even finish the green suit.
Then off to gym and cooking. Tomorrow will be falafels with asparagus and Oka.

Life is super hectic! At least tomorrow i'll be done with the school, only one class to prepare (for january) and that's it.

There would normally be tons of pictures of the big snowstorm we had over the last 2 days, but i forgot my camera at Rachel's place last friday. We all gathered there for a murder mystery dinner. Notice the dead clown on the cake. And no, not talking about yann.

So last day of school, fitting for 5Womens, lots of shopping and sewing for tomorrow. Might be a long day, but i'll finish it up with a sprint at the gym, was too busy with Baltazar and student's homework to take care of to go to the gyme tonite, and it's closing for the whole week-end as they're moving. Can't wait for it to be open 24 hours a day.

I'm exhausted. It's been a hard week. Lot of work, and lot of insomnia.

First, pictures (haha, only 2) of this week's Breakfast Club. Not much people, but new faces this week.
Zoub... being herself. Even at 7 in the morning.

And Maripou and Samo... very awake. Very very awake.

Today was windy and cold, but overall good. Had a fitting for the opera and i... FINISHED THE KIDS CONTRACT!
I only have 3 pairs of shoes to be tried on and it will be done. DONE.
only 2 contracts left now.

Debating couple of thing for tonite. Normally, i would have to go to the gym, then Jane's christmas party, then head to the Boudoir for Break's night, then home to manage to sleep for a bit before work tomorrow, but as i previously said, i'm exhausted. Totally. Yesterday's workout was really hardcore and i feel kinda beaten up. I think i will go to the gym, then just come back home and skip the parties to get some rest.

Elyane is coming by tomorrow to work with me on 5Women's hats. It's really optimistic, but i would like to have all of them done before Sunday, so i could have them for the fitting on thursday. So purple madness tomorrow. yay.

Oh btw, the meditteranean on the corner (duPont and Charest) really rocks. They makes the best baklavas and the best malouh bread ever. And it's 100% natural. I can't believe i never went there before. It always looks kinda close or empty, but it's not. Tons of yummy things inside

oh and my turkist stew really rocks. :)
